Characters: Izanami and Adachi
Setting: Floor Twenty
Format: I'll match, Steve
Summary: Some time after this thread, Izanami and Adachi have a little... Chat...
Warnings: Izanami being creepy towards Adachi. Adachi being himself.
[Izanami rarely actually goes looking for people in the Tower. But today, she is. And today, she'll find him. Because when she wants to find someone, she will stop at nothing. Which is why she's so pleased when she finds him. She's not entirely sure why he's on an empty floor, but he's here and that's what matters. For all she knows, he's using the staircases to go up or down. Either way, she'll approach him--in the form of the goddess, this time.]
Adachi-san. I've been looking for you.

Adachi-san. I've been looking for you.

But he can't even get that, now can he?
He lazily tilts his head sideways, still not bothering to turn and face Izanami.]
Is that right?
no subject
[She's got that mysterious smile of her as she stands there, watching his back. Yes, indeed, this floor is quite appropriate for him. It matches quite well with who he is--what he represents to her.
Or, at least, what he once represented.
Narukami had long since dispelled the need for Emptiness. He had conquered it soundly, and had declared Hope triumphant. Ironic, with how crushing Emptiness can be.]
no subject
And he may still have yet to be defeated, but humiliated? He'd say he's just been humiliated pretty badly, yeah.
His shoulders sag.]
Well, I guess you found me.
[Again.]
Oh. That icon.
Adachi is a dead man walking.]
Of course. Do you think yourself able to escape she who awakened your power?
[She remains quite a few steps back from him, watching. Waiting. He doesn't seem too pleased with her presence--and why should he? She is, after all, Death.]
no subject
Finally, he glances over his shoulder at her.]
What do you want?
no subject
[She notes how he doesn't face her fully. Keeps his back turned, but looks over his shoulder. He doesn't want to face her, face the image of Death itself.
How ironic.]
no subject
Others knowing what they shouldn't know really isn't fun.]
Maybe I did.
[He definitely did.]
So?
no subject
Then you know the future you face.
[She'll quickly close the space then, standing just before him. It's rude, after all, to talk at such a distance now that he's facing her. Granted, he might not like the chill to the air around her right now. Or the decay beginning to peek up just barely over the neckline of her kimono.]
no subject
Nope. He's not really a fan of the chill, or the decay, or the sudden invasion of personal space.]
W-Wait a minute, that's...
[Impossible. There's no way those brats could've outsmarted him, right? But even if they had...]
No. [He straightens up, glaring at Izanami.] Even if it was my future, what does it matter now?
no subject
Except then her fingers are loosely at his neck. Not strangling, but enough he should get the point as to why, exactly, she's interested in this topic.]
It matters quite a bit to me, Adachi-san.
no subject
Not a whole lot of success there.
The next question is blurted out:]
W-Why's that?
no subject
Because, Adachi-san. You didn't think you got your powers free of charge, did you?
no subject
Wh-What the hell is that supposed to mean?! You're not gonna---
[Oh god, it's getting worse. Everything's getting worse. He's straight-up flinching, trying to pull back as far as he can. Get away. Get away get away get away.]
no subject
[Momentarily, her bony grip will tighten. Still not enough to actually strangle, but still not as loose as it was before. There are more of those hands clawing at him now, slowly reaching further and further up his body. It's probably very cold right now.]
no subject
Is that all I'm supposed to be? Just some stupid puppet of yours?
[That's why she gave him that power to begin with, wasn't it? He was nothing more than a pawn in her game, same as Narukami and Namatame. Losing said game was his fate. His destiny.
No.
Adachi bares his teeth as Magatsu-Izanagi slowly pulses through the back of his mind.
Screw destiny. He's dealt with enough shit in his life without having to take any of this. He forces the word out of him:]
Bullshit.
no subject
[It's amusing, seeing him fight back. Because he doesn't stand a chance--not against the one who gave him the power in the first place, not against a death goddess.
She can feel that pulse this close, faint as it is to her. And she almost wants to dare him to call forth that which she awakened in him.]
However, Yomi is my realm, and all that die belong there--and thus to me. You're a dead man walking, are you not?
