Let's do some digging
Characters: The participants in the Hacking plot
Setting: The elevators and the network terminals, July 14th
Format: I'm going with action tags but you guys
Summary: Hacking the elevator down to the administrative levels is probably becoming a regular occurrence. Meanwhile, another group does some real digging on the network for hopefully vital information.
Warnings: Possible death in the decoy thread. Will edit if anything else turns up

She nods briefly at Gilgamesh, jaw set.]
Okay... we're all here so... are we ready?
[She gives them a moment to respond, then turns resolutely towards the elevator itself. It's not like they have much time to waste anyway. She presses the button to call the elevator.]

As ready as we'll ever be, I suppose.
[They might only be the distraction, but Riku very much remembers the last time he had been down on the administrative levels, and he had been ridiculously lucky to come out as well as he had back then. He doesn't expect to be just as lucky tonight, but if it means protecting Xion, then he's more than willing to do what's needed of him.
Now that the elevator has arrived there is no longer any turning back anyways. They can only move forward from here on.]

Gilgamesh she knows can take care of himself.
Arturia enters the elevator and holds the door for the others.]

But he soon averts his attention away, his body doused in gold light again as his casual wear is replaced with his battle raiment. Then he is striding into the elevator as well.]

Once everyone is inside, she turns towards the panel where residents normally select which floor they want to go to. But of course they're not here for the normal floors.
Kneeling in front of the panel, she gets to work. It's odd - to anybody watching, it probably looks as though she's intensely focused, and yet the longer she works, there grows an oddly detached expression on her face. For Xion... it's a little bumpy at first, and she makes some small mistakes, but as she works, like she has barely any awareness of what she's doing. Like she barely has to have - like this is as natural to her as walking was, when she was first created. She hadn't known how she knew then, had no memory of learning it, she just... did. So it was now, though of course she had more of an inkling now as to how she'd gotten this skill.
But that was beside the point. For now she works on hacking into the elevator.]

ACCESS DENIED. PLEASE EXIT THE ELEVATOR.

His hand clenches around Way to the Dawn and he can't help but glance down at his Keyblade, eyes narrowing as an idea hits him and he grimaces - he remembers exactly how well that had worked out the last time he had tried, months ago in Riki's room. On the other hand though... what are the chances that they haven't been noticed now anyways, and given their role, the surprise element isn't exactly what they absolutely need (as much more comfortable as Riku would have felt having it). He exhales then, preparing himself to repeat what probably isn't exactly the smartest move as he steps to Xion's side and double-taps the top of the access panel with his Keyblade.]
Better brace yourselves. If this works, they'll know we are coming.

Then the elevator doors slam shut, trapping those inside in a suddenly pitch black steel box. Eventually the access panel lights up again, casting an eerie glow in the small area.
A pixelated eye stares back at them.]

Still, they need to give the other group more time. She steps back as Riku pulls out his keyblade. Then the elevator lurches and there's an eye on the screen.
What?]
Has that ever happened before?
no subject
[She's never done this before. She's still more than a little startled at what Riku had done - she hadn't even thought of using her Keyblade while trying to hack her way through. Truth be told, she's still a little half-dazed. Falling back on her old pre-programmed knowledge was... she wasn't sure she liked the sensation. But she had to draw on it again now, didn't she? They still needed to focus.
That eye though...
Was there anything else on the screen she could try to get at, to keep hacking? Or had Riku not yet done what he'd intended to do? She glances back at him once, nervously, then around at the others.]
Can anybody make a light?
[Leaning forward though she taps the screen around the edges of the eye - not on the eye itself, at least not yet - trying to see if there's anything else she can access]

So they are watching us. Nothing to be concerned about. [Yet.]

As for Arturia's question...]
The only other time I tried this was that time in Riki's room... it got us to the button, but it also triggered his defenses.
[He shrugs then, his free hand lifting as he conjures a flame ball... he can't hold the magic in place for long and grimaces when it extinguishes after a few seconds, but hopefully it would be enough for what Xion needs.]
I assume it's the same now.
[At least as far as the defenses part goes.]

A computerized voice sounds in the elevator.]
Please speak your destination.
Unless someone objects OOCly
Riki's office, if you please.

and gives Riki more reason to be upset at them during the punishment.]no subject
[The elevator lights flicker on and off before settling on off once more. There's a strange sound, like someone crawling on the outside of the elevator.
Then the elevator starts moving, and there's a ripping and tearing and shrieking, like the movement crushed some unfortunate creature.]
no subject
Wh-what was that?
[She looks back at Riku in particular. She doesn't expect him to know, but just him being there is suddenly reassuring.]
no subject
[Obviously. Arturia had stepped forward upon hearing it scrambling outside, just in case it decided to burst in, Caliburn ready in her hand. The screeching had disturbed her, but she did not let it show on her face.]
We might see bits of it when we exit the elevator. [If they exit the elevator.] Be careful.
no subject
The eye still stares at all of them, unblinking.]

It was probably just a monster.
[Or so Riku hopes anyways. ...Though they would probably have heard if there had been anyone else attempting a trip downstairs tonight, so that is the most likely.
Still he tightens his grip on Way to the Dawn and trains his eyes on the exit. This time he is going to protect Xion, no matter what comes.]

We could not have reached our destination already.
[Then he's eying the elevator floor, as if expecting it to open up underneath them.]

Y-yeah... something's not right.
[She reaches up a hand to briefly squeeze Riku's back, before gently breaking out of it and stepping towards the panel again. It feels like her insides are quavering, though her hands are steady as she reaches out to poke at the panel again, trying to figure out what happened]

[She pulls the girl away and glares at the eye.]
Do you mind? That was rude. [It's a computer, yes, but with that eye feeling like it's watching them and it not allowing them to touch it, she feels like she should say something.]
