your story's not finished yet
Characters: Sertoria Cani and OPEN.
Setting: Dormitory floors, Floor 81 and around.
Format: Action.
Summary: Upon reawakening from death, Sertoria finds herself rather bored when under 50 minutes of sleep paralysis and then goes to check up on her friends when she can move again.
Warnings: None that I can think of!
[ Room 1-03 | Dormitory Floor ]
Restoring from last state...
Booting up system.exe...
Loading configuration for optic sensors, limbs, vocal and aural recognition software...
Loading saved and approved settings for weaponry and power supplies...
Running diagnostic program. Set full scan for system-wide errors...
Loading CXEV5001...
Please hold. CXEV5001 will be up momentarily.
...
Welcome, CXEV5001. System SPERO has been loaded successfully. Movement is restricted by 100%. It is unknown when this will clear. Weaponry and power supplies are running at 100%. Further commands will be asked when CXEV5001 recovers.
[ So, that's why Sertoria feels like she can't move. Her eyes are certainly darting about, but her limbs won't move no matter how many commands her system feeds to them. She sighs irritably before noticing she's with her robes again. Did that mean that--
Well, she'll get to that later. Right now, she'll be staring up at the ceiling and perhaps pouting a little at the fact that she has things to do and yet, can't get to them right now. ]
...Please, anyone, tell me a story to pass the time! I am bored stiff!
[ That may or may not have been an intentional joke on her end. ]
[ Floor 81 ]
[ Once she can move properly again, Sertoria will decide to relax in the meadow to think things over. If those shadow children really were real, did Joshua resent her that much for existing as she was now? If so, how could she remedy that situation so that she didn't have to suffer like that again?
Either way, it was rather enlightening, which puts curiosity in to the android as well as more doubt than one needed. She can be found relaxing on one of the couches and rifling through Joshua's journal to see if he had any wisdom to share postmortem. ]
[ Around ]
[ As Sertoria walks around, she seems to be focused on finding a few people. Namely her friends. She wants to see if they're okay and if there's anything she can do to help out. For now, she'll try to find anyone around and kindly ask: ]
Are you alright after that event...? I was worried and did not know how you fared as a result.

[ Around? - Library ]
[ It was jarring, to say the least... his makeshift 'office' in the library is a mess, but thankfully the Compass was still untouched. Mostly because it's a deathtrap to anyone but Wilhelm, and likely the Administrators themselves if recent revelations are any indication. ]
And yourself?
[ Around | Library works! ]
I am... okay, Wilhelm. I am glad to see you are okay, too.
[ She's not using the word operational to describe how she's feeling. There is improvement happening with her. ]
[ \o/! ]
[ If a Testament ramming their hand through his chest and dismembering him doesn't even cause him to flinch... ]
You have never told me anything about your own world. Did you see anyone of significance?

[ Her eyes widen a fraction when he asks his question and she only nods in response. ]
I rarely do like discussing the intricacies of my world. Although, I did see two of my friends back home. They were... not what I remember, but that is what is to be expected here.
Room 1-03
[Wriggle had just been sitting in her bed, practicing writing. Sertoria had been in the bed since she returned, so she was a little surprised to find her suddenly awake]
Um... I dunno any stories. Should I make one up?
Room 1-03
Please. I do not know how long this will go on for and I cannot stand to be stationary for long.
no subject
[She can sense the urgency in her voice and tries to search her brain for a good story. Having not actually read any stories herself it's up to her to remember the ones she was told. With a memory like Wriggle's though, it's no easy feat]
Okay! I'll tell you one I made up myself!
no subject
I would like that. I am ready whenever, Wriggle.

[She spends a moment or two looking up at the ceiling, trying to collect her ideas into some kind of narrative]
Okay! Once upon a time in a hidden land there was a sparrow. Her singing was very beautiful but when humans heard it they went blind, so humans were very scared of her.
One day when she was singing in the forest she came across a fi... r... icket! She came across a cricket! The cricket was enchanted by her singing but since birds ate insects it was also very scared. It said to the sparrow 'If you eat me you'll regret it. I only wanted to listen to your song so please let me sing with you.' The sparrow decided to humor the cricket and the two sang together until the evening. The sparrow had such fun that they soon became friends. Every night they would sing songs in the forest.
[She glanced back at Sertoria to make sure she was paying attention and also to give herself the precious seconds she needed to come up with some kind of conflict]
[Around - one of the lounges]
And you?
[ around ]
I am okay. I cannot complain, Aleph.
[ around ]
All right. I'm glad to hear that.
[ around ]
...I...did let my shadows get to me, unfortunately.
[ around ]
[No use saying 'you should have sought someone out' when it's over and done and it'll just make her feel bad.]
[ around ]
[ A pause and she rubs her chin thoughtfully. ]
Or, are you saying that so you do not make me feel bad, Aleph?
[ around ]
Room- 1-03
What kind of story would you like?
Room- 1-03
...Sorry for waking you up, Zoe. Um... any will do.

How about the tale of the pixie and the mermaid who fell in love?
no subject
I...do not believe I have heard that. Please go on.
no subject
A long time ago, there was a pixie who fell in love with a handsome mermaid that lived in the forests lagoon. The pixie would admire the mermaid from the trees, and curse her hesitance about approaching him. Then, one day, a mischievous bird stole the coral the mermaid was admiring and dropped it in the forest by accident, and the pixie saw this as her chance to approach the mermaid. So she went deep into the forest where the coral was dropped, dodging birds of prey and foxes so that she could grab the coral and return it back to the mermaid.
The mermaid was very grateful to the pixie for returning the coral, as it was a gift from his late mother. He invited the pixie to talk to him and they talked through the night, and when he needed to return to the depths of the lagoon, he asked the pixie to speak with him the next morning. They continued this for weeks and weeks, and then eventually the mermaid admitted he had fallen for the pixie. Overjoyed her hidden feelings were returned, she accepted his offer to be his wife. And even though they were separated by how they lived in different worlds, they still met on the banks of the lagoon to talk for hours on end everyday.
[Zoe stops and takes a breath, now smiling faintly.] ... I shall admit that it was a story that I was fond of when I was younger.

[ Although, when Zoe begins telling her a story, she quiets down enough to let her talk for now. Her eyes close again as she tries to visualize the setting, characters and the plot itself. A smile crosses her face at the love portion, feeling a warmth surging in her chest all of a sudden. Stories like this always helped, even when she was feeling trapped by being under sleep paralysis. ]
Is there more or is that the end? Either way, it is a beautiful tale. Maybe some of the children back home would enjoy it...
[ Those that didn't fear her, that was. ]
Around- Meadow Floor
... I lived, b-but I'm still shaken up a-a bit... W-what about you?
Around- Meadow Floor
I... am the same way. It is scary what kind of horrors still lurk here, hm?
Floor 81
Ah...Sertoria? Did you move me here?
*He's fairly sure anyone picking him up would have woken him, but he hasn't really been himself lately.
All things considered, he either misremembered or it was Lucifel.*
Floor 81
I... just arrived not too long ago, Enoch. Perhaps you were too tired to the point where you are unable to remember?
Sorry, all my tags got buried by the drinking post. Forgot to turn off notifs...
*Enoch sits up, rubbing the back of his neck. As his consciousness returns, so does Eleven's screaming. He looks for something to distract him, not looking rested at all.*
What are you reading?
no subject
ACK! [He moved back a step or two.] I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention.
no subject
It is okay. I think a lot of us are in a haze. Are you okay, though, sir?
no subject
I think I've seen you around before. [He can't think of any names though.]
no subject
I am Sertoria Cani, Doc Brown's assistant here. Did he tell you about me, by any chance?
no subject
no subject
[ She taps her cheek, wondering where she could have ran in to him... ]
Perhaps you have just seen me around...?
no subject
[It was easy to recognize people when you've been here long enough.]
The name's Katsuya Jonouchi, but most people call me Jonouchi.
