We're Gonna Party Rock Till The Day Comes Up!

Characters: EVERYONE
Setting: Floor 38
Format: Whatever you feel comfortable with. Prose, action, it's all good.
Summary: The giant party is finally here! Mingle, Blind date and strange things ahoy!
Warnings: WHO KNOWS WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN.

Floor Thirty-Eight. Normally just a simple lounge, it was now Party Central.

It was clear Eikichi had put all of his heart into it. Say what you wanted about him, but he was a good manager and organizer. The place didn't look the same, with the flower bouquets strewing in odd corners, the bright pieces of tissues hung around like garlands. They had no balloons so they made with. A few banners hung into the air, the words crudely painted with Maya's name and wishing her a happy birthday. There was also a few others with the names of the birthdays Eikichi had managed to get.

At the entrance, there was a a few large baskets filled with corsages that Jun had prepared - acacias white (friendship and chaste love), yellow (secret love) and pink (friendship), white violets (Purity; Candor; Modesty; Innocence; Let's take a chance on happiness) and pink roses (Perfect happiness, please believe me; Friendship) expertly woven pieces of stems and grass meant it required no other materials than the flower themselves.

Of course, the meanings were not written. You just had a few to chose from. Then you could offer one to your date to wear on their hand...if you wished.

As Eikichi had said, no pressure.

...Except for coming, of course.

Those that were part of the blind dates had each been given a small piece of paper with a symbol.As they entered they could see a small sign instructing to try and find the other person with the same symbol. This would be their 'date' of the night.

On the farthest left to the entrance, they had dragged in a gigantic music system, with an area for a DJ to run (Tatsuya had helped with the wiring). Some large pieces of metals had been lined up to cover the floor, making a fake stage and on top of that, he had placed various instruments - along with those of his band, of course. The stage would be open for them to play later, regardless.

The main area reserved for food was a few tables that had been dragged in here, covered with whatever tissues they had found and filled with all the food they could take - some of it was typical stuff found in the cafeteria this week (but no gross stuff - Eikichi didn't want living maggots in his cheese today), the rest had been made by those nice enough to help with the cooking. There wasn't that much typical 'party food' as creating your own sweets and chips does take a while, but the jerky meats, the hot soups and the vegetables more than made up for it. The drinks were placed right besides it and who knew how many trips they had needed to set it all up.

There were also cakes on the next table, enough to feed at least everyone in the part a generous slice. Considering the ingredients and the people involved they ranged from the very simple to baked pies using the available fruits, and a single cake which appeared to have more work than the others. They did with what they had, and it was fantastic they had so much at all.

All the chairs and bags found in that room normally were tossed in a corner facing the central area so that people could sit down if they felt like it, but the central area was reserved to talk, mingle and dance once everything REALLY got underway.

It would soon too, once the crowds started to get bigger and bigger.

At least in this case it's more detached. "Of course. Sometimes there just isn't any other way. It's still sad that they chose to live like that." Hm. She gives this a little more thought, then-- "-- Oh! I'm doing it again...! I'm sorry, Dave."

"Wait. What are you doing again?" Dave is the most observant guy. It is him. Give him a reward.

"Getting distracted by things I shouldn't think." Like the misfortune of some spontaneously referenced pair of (theoretically) bad guys she's never met or even heard of before. "I should be-- um... partying." Or something. She's not even totally sure what that entails.

"Partying. Well, do you like dancing? That's a partying thing that doesn't include talking about awkward topics or getting shit-faced." Not that dancing is usually that great when it involves a party environment. Not sure if grinding up against strangers is a worthwhile activity.

"I... don't know. I haven't done very much of it." Tiny shrug! "I had a friend once who I got to dance with--" -- Woah, nope, not gonna think too hard about someone who's left the Tower. "-- and I had fun then, but...." That wasn't exactly what seems to be the more common forms of dancing.

"What kind of dancing?" He's just being a curious mccuriouspants, that's all. And maybe if she had fun, they can do it too. It'll give them more than talking about morbid topics, anyways.

"--.... I remember we span in circles a lot. I was really dizzy, after that." Does that even have a name, or was Molly just being silly? "I'm not sure that part counted as dancing, though. Other than that we just... did whatever came to mind, I think." So basically it was a lot of silliness, mostly.

Dave thinks he knows what she was doing. Which is to say, it was probably not really even a dance. But he gently grans her hands and kind of drags her into an area that's less crowded.

Okay, all they're really doing is spinning in circles too. He isn't really cut out for this kind of dancing or whatever, but at least he's pretty smooth about it.

"--!" The move seems to startle her, but she doesn't resist, and soon enough she's trailing after him. When they stop somewhere, she's already smiling. She's not entirely certain what he's got in mind, at first, but she figures it'll probably be SOME kind of dancing.

When she finds out just what he has in mind, she lets out an abrupt laugh, though a pleased one, and happily goes along with it. He's probably not as... exuberant as Molly, but this way is a lot less likely to wind up with both of them on the floor, which Naminé certainly does not object to.

See? This is a lot more fun than talking about strange topics that suddenly get a lot more morbid than you intended it to go. And it made her laugh, so she must think this is kind of fun.

He rather not end up on the floor. He'd be kind of embarrassed if that happened. He's too cool for accidentally tripping and sending them sprawling. But he does break into a grin.

It is! And she does, if the way that smile sticks around counts as further proof. She very rarely gets to do things like this, and that makes them all the more special. Getting to just be silly for a little while is refreshing.

That would indeed be very uncomfortable, though she wouldn't think less of him for it. That grin serves to strengthen her own smile, and it looks as though she might laugh again just at the sight of it, though not derisively; rather, it's a very welcome discovery.

Dave lets out a light chuckle. It wasn't something he did a lot at home, and even much less so here. But this is the first time in awhile where he's had this much fun. The tower really did do a number on him.

But for once he was enjoying himself a bit. Even if they were being kind of silly and spinning around together.

She could say much the same, especially after this past month. Some of her worst fears have been realized in the tower - though not all of them, thank goodness, and some of the things she didn't dare wish for but always wanted to have been offered her, too.

Silly is definitely not something she finds objectionable, although she's probably going to end up dizzy eventually.

He's momentarily forgotten that they were still in the tower and that this happiness wasn't eternal. But in this moment, he was enjoying himself and enjoying it with someone else. He hadn't exactly been very social. He's become even less social the more he's been here.

He kind of slows down so they're more like swaying. He's kind of getting tired and really dizzy.

Naminé's been fortunate enough to be the opposite, mostly because she went from almost no human contact to suddenly being surrounded by people. That means that things like this, times when she gets to have fun with another person, are all the more precious to her.

She's relieved when they slow, not because she wasn't having fun but because she's having a really hard time seeing straight, and she's threatening to stumble, though she's laughing. She's half tempted to lean against him for stability, but opts to keep trying not stumble on her own power instead.

Dave has always been more of an internet person, so going into situations where he had to converse in person kind of threw him off. And now he was constantly aware that anything he said might give away a lot more than he wants someone to know.

He's trying to keep her steady, but he's no better, so they're both kind of just stumbling about now. But it gets a laugh out of Dave, if that's any consolation.

It's plenty of consolation - not that she needs it - and it encourages her to continue laughing, too. But alas, she does sort of need to breathe, and so after a bit the giggling fades so that she can catch her breath, but the smile stays.

So does the dizziness, if her continued difficulty with remaining upright is any indication. All the same, she tries to return the favor and help keep him from faceplanting, too.

They're both really just stumbling and trying to keep each other from falling over. It was kind of silly, but at least they kind of steady at some point. If only because Dave decided to solve it by floating an inch or two off the ground, his arms tensing a little as they kept themselves around her so that her feet weren't touching the ground either.

"--!!!" That... was definitely unexpected, and she lets out a tiny, surprised noise, eyes going wide. Her hands automatically cling to the material of his shirt as she turns reflexively to try to get a look at the ground. Are they really floating, or is she just so dizzy that it feels (and looks, apparently) like they are? "Dave--?"

He makes sure that he won't drop her, even if she's now clinging to him too. But hey, it would be really terrible of him to accidentally drop her when it was his fault she's floating off the ground because of him.

"Yeah? I didn't think either of us would want to get friendly with the floor." You're definitely floating.

Really terrible, and also would probably make her hesitant to engage in any other floating shenanigans. Not that she actually gave her consent this time, either, but. Details.

"-- Oh. I suppose-- that's... good thinking." Pause. "I didn't know you could fly." She is... taking this quite well, after her initial shock.

He'll ask next time. He didn't consider asking, but that's probably something he should have done. Not that...he still thinks it's something he should ask.

"That's because I forget I can." Dave is really good at forgetting things even if they're kind of something that he shouldn't be able to forget. Like time traveling. "Guess it comes with going god tier."

Given the circumstances (and that she's way too nice) she's inclined to forgive this particular - not entirely unwelcome - transgression.

That's... sort of a weird thought, for her. Her mind is on what she can do but chooses not to far more than she'd like it to be, though of course her situation in relation to such things has always been a complicated one. "Do you forget you can do a lot of things?" -- Hey, wait. "-- 'God tier'?"

He'd feel bad if she legitimately didn't want this to be a thing to be honest. He was just messing around.

You'd be surprised as to what Dave can forget. "Not usually. It's just things where I have to make a conscious effort I guess. I've launched crap out of my sylladex a bunch of times without meaning too." Which is something embarrassing to admit, but it's been awhile since he's even had a sylladex to do so. "Yeah. When we die on our quest b-oh fuck." The whole point of this was to not talk about morbid things. Good job Dave.

And it's messing around that she's inclined to allow, if not enjoy. She was mostly just startled. He hasn't given her reason to be terribly offended by such things. (There are people she'd be decidedly less comfortable doing such things with.)

She's just considering asking what in the world a 'sylladex' is when he lets slip that last part and she straightens, eyes widening. "Die? You mean-- back in your world...?" Because she's certainly never heard about any quest thingamajiggs or constructs like that in the Tower. Dying in the Tower is one thing, but having died back home is entirely another.
